Au Pair Training School Staff
To ensure the safety and comfort of all au pairs as well as offering them a warm welcome, we have three full-time Cultural Care Au Pair staff members who live on campus, allowing us to provide au pairs with support 24 hours a day during their stay on campus.
Caitlin Corcoran - Director
In my role as Director of the Cultural Care Au Pair Training School I am responsible for the operation of the school which is located on the Oakdale campus of St. John's University on Long Island. Along with the teachers and staff, I ensure that the au pairs enjoy their first week in the U.S. and are well prepared for the year ahead.
Being able to live and work at the school truly provides me with the opportunity to be here, day and night, to answer questions, be a support system and really get to know the au pairs. My true passion is traveling and seeing as much of the world as I possibly can. Through my position at the school, I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, listening to their stories and looking at their pictures from home, which allows me to travel in a different way.
Here at the school, I work with a passionate team of staff and teachers who are constantly working on ways to be sure the au pairs have the best week possible. We listen to the feedback of the au pairs each week and improve the accommodations as well as the curriculum based on their comments. I see first hand, that this week at the school provides a time for each au pair to be able to get to know one another and create a network of friends that will last not only the year here, but well into the future. There is nothing better than looking around on a Friday morning as the au pairs are departing and seeing good-bye hugs and tears coming from a group that a mere four days before, were strangers.

Chelsea Litalien - School Operations Coordinator
As a School Operations Coordinator at the Training School, I am here to support au pairs through their first week in the United States. I help ensure that their time at the school is both as fun and educational as possible. I greet them when they arrive, welcome and orient them to the school, staff the school store during their breaks, and, since I live in the main dormitory, I am around as a general resource for them in the evenings. I came to the school after working for a year in Cultural Care’s main office as an Account Services Coordinator. While I enjoyed providing host families and au pairs with top-notch customer service, I’m extremely excited to be working directly with au pairs now.
I grew up in Biddeford, Maine, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While there, I had the opportunity to study abroad for two semesters. I spent the first semester of my junior year in Lyon, France, and the second in Sydney, Australia, where I completed an internship with an international travel company. When I returned from studying abroad, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of international education, or something closely related to it, which led me to Cultural Care.
In addition to travel, some of my interests include reading, studying languages, and watching movies. I'm especially enthusiastic about cultural exchange, and l love developing my passion for travel and all things international with Cultural Care.
